Your donated clothing is put right to use

When you donate your in-season, gently worn clothing to us, your clothes are passed along to a local family in need.

At Sowing Seeds our volunteers carefully examine the clothing that is dropped off inside our building to see if it is in wearable condition. Each item is assessed: Is it something we would wear? Is it something we would give to a family member or friend to wear? If so, it is sorted by gender and size, and then displayed in our boutique-like setting, and given to a qualified local family in need. If not, we pass it along to other larger, regional non-profits to distribute in some fashion.

The primary goal of Sowing Seeds is to help local families get on their feet again. No one at Sowing Seeds earns a single cent. Your clothing doesn’t travel to reach its destination. It’s used right here, right now, by people who have a real and present need for clothing.

Donations of seasonal, laundered clothing, in new or nearly new condition can be delivered to our building on Thursdays and Saturdays from 10 am to 12 noon. (Try to deliver before 11:4 5a.m. if you can.) Be sure to bring your clothing inside the building. Due to space constraints we cannot accept out-of-season clothing.

We can always use gift certificates to local merchants such as Marshall’s, Payless Shoes and Stop and Shop. We have a constant need for packages of new socks and underwear.

Our reward is knowing we have clad a local family, and that in the summer they have t-shirts, shorts, pants and sneakers, and during our winters their heads, bodies, hands and feet are kept warm and dry. They depend upon all of us to help them help themselves.

Thanks for helping your neighbors and community. If you are in need of clothing, please stop by and speak with one of our volunteers during Clothing Bank hours. We are happy to discreetly help you.
